i would be afraid of putting my hand into the jaws of a predator, because i'm afraid of losing my hand. in the same way, my choice to commit is something important to me, as i would be stifling my potential. saying i'm afraid of commitment is the same as saying i don't want my hand to be gnawed off.
but, sometimes i play with my cat by waving my hand in its face and seeing if it can catch me before i pull it away... because i know the worst it could do is a bite or a few scratches.
