1. Offer a casual meet up somewhere with lots of people first, in broad daylight
2. Let someone you trust know where you'll be at and when you'll respond so as to give them a sign you're alright and they dont need to call the cops
3. City cultures are generally more accepting of lgbt so try to look for a person from one
4. If you're patient, try to learn about the person, spend some time looking for red flags, psychoanalyze (at least thats what I generally do but I think i scared one of you tranners off last time by rushing to meet in about a months time as I'll have wildly unpredictable schedules and that was the time window when it was predictable)
Other than that carry some form of self defense like pepper spray and try to be less paranoid unless youre living in some notoriously bad country for lgbt, like muslim type of country bad with stonings and beheadings abound
