Would you ever adopt a kid and start a family?

dunno about adopting but during my stint as a kindergarten tard wrangler i was sitting next to my charge to stop them from bolting towards the door when this little girl got dropped off and started crying because it was her first day, for some reason after her dad left she ignored and walked past the caretakers, and went straight towards me and hugged me

as she was sobbing into my chest and i was hugging her back my fatherly instincts really kicked in and i had an intense urge to protect and take care of her, the feeling was really indescribable, i can't even imagine what it must feel like when you actually have a kid of your own

it also made me feel really sad because i'll probably never have kids

she also kept calling me dad for some reason while i was working there which didn't help with that feeling..

Only if it's still young and mostly unaffected by the loss of its original parents and hasn't spent too much time in the orphanage. Otherwise I'd also look into what the kid's parents were like if possible, if they were abusive it's likely the kid will be troublesome too and I've seen some crime documentaries where a kid with such an upbringing goes as far as killing his adoptive parents.
You may take this as something to think and be cautious about for whoever's reading this.

I'd never adopt. I don't wanna raise someone else's child. I can only envision starting a family if my children are mine.
But I don't ever wanna have kids because I hate myself and I don't want to create a little clone of myself.
