The drag of a human shaped object sitting on a bike means that electric bikes have awful range and unlike a car you can't make up for it by adding extra batteries because they are heavy and bulky. 
Also I like working on engines and shifting through gears and the noise of a 1 cylinder 4 stroke engine. Despite the upgrades I made to the engine it still does over 100mpg so I don't spend much on fuel. 
Also I don't know how to make an EV.

interesting, i would've thought most motorbike upgrades would be aimed at fuel efficiency because they're already so fuel efficient. that's how it is for my car, at least. the last owner drilled holes into the intake, and i can't figure out why, whether it was an attempt to make the engine run more lean and use less fuel, or what. it must be fun to ride, but try and be safe when riding, Squishy. even i'm afraid of hitting 70 mph if i don't have to, especially because my brakes are puny.

i saw a vid showing some dude changing his tire within ~30 mins, using old oil carton plastic to protect his rim and $50 tire spoons from amazon. he even went so far as to balance it using a $100 wheel balancer from harbour freight. i feel as though it could be a useful skill, if you ever get a flat and have the means to repair the inside of the tube, but those tire rope patches seem to work just as well regardless, and i trust you know what's best for your bike.

I agree it would be a good skill to get good at, I do a lot of riding so my tyres need changing at least once a year just from wear. 
My bike has tubeless tyres so when I've gotten a puncture I've had good luck by just inserting a tyre worm from the outside without needing to remove the tyre.

that's crazy, i think mine are from 2006 and are in desperate need of changing, but are still somehow keeping pressure. once i get a job, i'm probably gonna pour a lot of money into maintenance and then customization, if i don't completely wreck her by then. i'd go to a tireshop, but i just can't stand the thought of a stranger working on my car.

Sadly bike tyres wear a lot faster than car tyres due to a whole load of different factors. They'll still hold air but the tread pattern only lasts around 6k miles. 
I know that feel of letting others work on your vehicle. 
When I started servicing my bike for the first time I noticed things like the screws on the valve covers had seized in place due to rust, the dealer had obviously never unscrewed them before to adjust the valve clearance during services. 
And my rear sprocket looked fine but my front sprocket was completely worn and curved, removing the front sprocket cover must have been too much work.
